2012 Travels: 8 Nations, My Wedding and Everything in Between

Today is December 28th, just a couple of days before we ring at 2013. This past year must be by far the best year in traveling for Davidsbeenhere.com, also 2013 is beginning to look even better. Wrapping up the year will be bittersweet — It was a year full of intriguing destinations (Central America, Africa and Europe) but following Spring will bring to a plethora of fresh challenges and amazing opportunities.

The World did not end.  At February 2012 I traveled through Guatemala for 12 days visiting the top attractions in the nation, plus several lesser known ones. I need to thank the Guatemala Tourism Board, INGUAT, for hosting me and giving me guide, a car and driver. There’s no greater way and having guide and a driver is an excellent plus to any press trip! I seen coastal cities Mayan ruins and two lakes.

My journeys through El Salvador were distinct. Guatemala has a huge people that is indigenous Mayan, whereas El Salvador has lost its heritage. The nation is comprised of small cities, volcanoes, colonial towns and beaches! Additionally, I stayed an additional four days at a family friend’s beach house — it was complete relaxation!

However, it did not stop there.  After 25 days of traveling through Central America, I returned home to Miami for a couple days before going out to a grueling 52-day trip through four countries in Europe. Traveling through Spain (for the millionth time) was as incredible as it always is. Galicia is all about wineries, fish, medieval cities and an unreal quantity of Roman ruins and Celtic.

Malta was following up on our trip. This place IS RIDICULOUS! It has a exceptional culture affected by its Arab and Italian heritage. The nine days I spent here changed me in more ways than one. It is food, island landscapes and folks are matchless.

After Malta we caught an Emirates flight to the island of Cyprus.

Obviously the Larnaka Tourism Board and Cyprus hosted us. Could we say that the bull $%#& best food on the planet?! I wish they functioned mezze.

After our tour of the Mediterranean, we were off into the of Andorra.

It is a world class shopping destination, although it might be one of the smallest countries in Europe. Andorra’s ski hotels rival those found in Colorado and also Switzerland.

And then there was Africa.  We spent twenty-two days exploring the whole country of Malawi, that is known as the”Warm Heart of Africa.” I was transplanted by A trip on South African Airways . The tradition, crafts that were stunning , unforgettable wildlife safaris and the awe-inspiring Lake Malawi made an impression on me that I can’t shake. It is certainly I’ve been so much better.

Oh, and Also the people!

2012 Travels: 8 Nations, My Wedding and Everything in Between

This year I met a Number of the most smart, real, talented and well-traveled bloggers around the globe (Pause the Moment, Wandering Trader, Backpack with Brock, Leah’s Travels, Mrs. O Around the Planet, Wild Junket, Legal Nomads, Everything Everywhere, Trading Voyageur, Kelly Ferro,  The Nad Work, Travel Dudes, Crazy Sexy Fun Traveler and The Blonde Gypsy. ) Meeting every single one of these was just beautiful — I am proud to now call them my buddies (cheesy, I know, but true!)

Then there were two.  After a busy 5-day trip to World Travel Market in London…

Ana and I got married on December 1st in Miami.

We honeymooned in beautiful St. Lucia — a Caribbean island full of pleasant beaches, magnificent scenery and delicious seafood.

This year I traveled around 8 countries and it altered my entire life yet again!

So what is next? Moving to Europe that’s what! My (wait for this. .) Spouse and I am going to be making the shift in April 2013. We’ve chosen Barcelona to be our house. From there we are going to have the ability to explore more of Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

I wish to extend a sincere thanks to every one of my lovers, loved ones, colleagues and supporters who’ve enriched, educated, motivated and educated me at 2012. I expect 2013 to be the best year yet and I hope you come along for the ride.

I would like to provide a special thanks to my host, ScotteVest Travel Clothing for helping make this year of journey possible.
